Alexandra Potter - Calling Romeo
Juliet is in a comfortable relationship with Will but can't help wishing that there was more romance in her life and is sorely tempted when she meets a sexy Adonis from a rival advertising agency. A delightful feel-good romantic comedy that gives the story of Romeo and Juliet a contemporary twist.

Juliet is 31, with a middle management job in advertising and a cosy relationship with her boyfriend of two years, Will. She has a group of close friends who are settling into marriage and children, a great local cafe where she relaxes every Sunday morning like clockwork, and her life is comfortable, predictable and safe - just the way she likes it. But, working feverishly on a new account at the advertising agency, she is introduced to an account executive from a rival agency. Sykes is hugely successful, tall, dark, handsome and very, very, attracted to Juliet. He pursues her with practised charm and although she is desperately in love with Will she can't help being flattered. She begins to compare her relationship with Will with the thrill of a new romance, and slowly, almost unconsciously, begins to wonder whether her cosy existence is really all she wants from life. When the persistent Sykes asks her to accompany him on a luxury weekend to the romantic city of Verona, Juliet stops listening to the voice of reason, and jumps head first into the illicit relationship. She thrives on the excitement: champagne, first-class travel, a handsome attentive man who has fallen in love with her - is this what she has been missing out on all of these years? How could she have let life pass her by? And all the time, Will is waiting at home examining his own life, completely unaware of the dramatic changes about to take place. Written in an entertaining and witty style, this novel is pure indulgence. The characters are colourful and diverse, giving depth to an otherwise straightforward storyline, while the snappy dialogue keeps the story moving. It's a fun, easy-to-read novel aimed at the young female reader, who will enjoy it immensely.
